After a ridiculously busy June, I’m making an effort to get back on track with this semi-daily project. I hope I didn’t lose many of you in this absence, and that if I did, I can bring you back!
Thank you so much for the continuous support of my work. I’ve been away for a month, but there wasn’t a day when I didn’t get at least a handful of Flickr notifications. Thank you so very much to taking time out of your days to see my work. It’s a privilege to have an audience like you guys.

an attempt at sanity (by Ana Luísa Pinto [Luminous Photography])
33/?
I’m not staging a comeback, but maybe I’m trying to. All I know is that things are moving, they’re changing, and I need something to hold on through that change, so that I don’t make my people’s lives even heavier with my own. So I photographed. And in my mind, I told myself over and over that I’m going to do this daily, that I’ll make this a proper diary again. A part of me knows I won’t, I guess. Or maybe I’m just trying to jinx it. But the truth is, I’m lousy at keeping my photographic commitments when life and commercial work get in the way. So I’ll try. I’ll try to get some calm, some sanity in me through my pictures again.

the invisible orchestra (by Ana Luísa Pinto [Luminous Photography])
[Every week, there will be a letter, going through the order of the alphabet. Every Monday, I’ll open the Chambers Compact Dictionary and I’ll randomly pick a page of the said letter. Out of that page, I’ll randomly pick a word. And every Friday, there will be a picture based on that word.
Welcome to the Alphabet Tales. ]
Week #3
Letter CConduct, kon-dukt’, v.t. to lead or guide; to convey (water, &c.); to direct (e.g. an orchestra); to manage (e.g. a business); to behave (oneself); (elect. , heat) to transmit]
—-this week went the other way around. I wanted a simpler word and I got conduct, which took me a while to conceptualize, but which lead me on an adventure to the roof, to the top of my building, where I had a cheer of lawyers on the other side of the street. It was kind of funny.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

I was planning to take this as a sort of homage to my friends who are doing NaNoWriMo, but the concept ended up getting away from me. Still, I’m happy with the final result.
(there’s a second version in the comments, slightly different. But I ended up liking this one better.)

the days of rain (by Ana Luísa Pinto [Luminous Photography])
She came out and the sun refused to shineSo she stood out in the rain and refused to cry.
—-
I’ve always had a thing against frames. I try them out every once in a while and I get really embarrassed and then I let it go. The thing is, what always bothered me about them — the same thing that bothered me about textures — was that they were not mine. I hadn’t made them. And I was adding something to my photos that completely changed them — but which wasn’t my doing.
That just changed. I bought a Bamboo Fun and I spent a few days working on my own frames and my own designs. I like these. And I finally like one of my pictures with a frame.

I don’t really know why I love this so much. Maybe because it shows my favorite girl in a beautiful dress doing what she was born to do in front of the backdrop of my pretty hometown? Maybe because I took it? Maybe because I like the modernity of the graffiti against the vintage look of the dress? Maybe just because I love the girl? Either way, this picture speaks to me. *blushes*
